Particularly Thankful

This holiday season is particularly special for the Stone family with our new addition, Baby Brice. Aunt Chris and Great Grammy came in town from Alabama and we had a great meal on Thursday. Then, it was off to the Stone's for another 5000 calorie meal! Yum! Brent got up at the crack of dawn on Black Friday to take advantage of a steal of a deal on an external hard drive, so we never lose our precious photos and music. Brice and I stayed home and snoozed....no crazy shopping for us. On Saturday, Brent pulled Daddy-duty and I got to see the Jackets beat the Dawgs in Athens - boy, was it sweet! On Sunday, we went to Cheryl's for Laurens baby shower. It was a busy Holiday weekend, but we were surrounded by family so we felt extra blessesd. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see Aunt Chris and Great Grammy at Lauren's shower because of traffic, but we're glad they made the trip and got home safely. Babies have a way of making you feel so warm and blessed, especially when you get to experience their "firsts" with them. Brice's first Thanksgiving was certainly a blessing. Love to all!

Let it SNOW?!

We took our first family drive to the mountains yesterday to see the beautiful leaves. Ironically, the leaves were long gone and we saw SNOW! We packed a picnic lunch and headed out around 10am Sunday and just started driving North. We ended up at Brasstown Bald, where the temperature dropped to 26 degrees! There was snow and frost on the ground and on the trees and it looked beautiful. Our "picnic" lunch ended up being enjoyed in the car, but we ventured out to get a couple of pictures of the family to capture Brice's first snow! I did cry at the momentous occasion....he seemed to enjoy it. He actually napped on the way there AND the way back. He loves car rides! Seeing the snow put me in more of the holiday spirit, but then just stressed me out to think about all the shopping/decorating/preparing I need to get started on. Love to all!

We Love Aunt Lauren!

Brice had a busy day yesterday. After a few loads of laundry, he went over to Aunt Lauren's while mommy hit the gym. Then, it was off to the grocery store where he napped like a champ. Then, Lauren and I went to the Fairy Dust consigment sale where I racked UP! I got Brice lots of cute sleep-n-plays and some really cute holiday items. My favorite is a cute little navy blue coat from the Gap. I also got a baby Bijorn for three bucks!! After the sale, it was back to our house for dinner. I tried out a new recipe and no one protested or vomited....stuffed chicken breasts with couscous and feta. Yum!

Brice is 10 weeks old today and he's really starting to show off his personality. He seems like a pretty serious guy, but loves to smile. He smiles so much these days it looks like he's showing the beginnings of laughing, without the noise. :) I have been completely blown away with the love and joy he's brought our lives. People tell you how it feels, but you don't truly know it until it happens to you. He is certainly #1 in our world now and seems content to be that way. I can't wait until Lauren and Brad experience this with their little one due in February. I just know Brice and his new cousin will be great buds! Lucy, Lane, and Greg came down this past weekend to visit and it was great having them in town. Greg turned 35 so we celebrated with dinner at Aqua Tera after what was a great day for GT, but a bummer for GA. This weekend, were thinking about going on a mountain drive to see the beautiful foliage (maybe in Highlands) but haven't made definite plans yet. We've been saying we want to take a quick road trip but just haven't this fall. I promise I'll upload some of our favorite photos from the last 10 weeks! Coming soon.......

Welcome to the Stone Family Blog! This is going to be a great new way to share information and pictures of our newly expanded family. Today is my first day back at work and I'm surviving! I really miss my little man and can't wait to get home this evening to be with him. Mom says he's doing well and seems content, she even got some smiles on camera. I am so blessed to have such great, supportive family close by to help me. It really does "take a village". It gives me comfort knowing that he's in great hands - hey, we turned out ok! :)
